Obituary

Daniel J Krikac, 55, Rapid City, died Saturday August 15, 2009 at Rapid City Regional Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born April 26, 1954 in Aberdeen, SD to William and Phyllis (Lillemoe) Krikac. He attended Simmons Elementary and Middle School and Central High School in Aberdeen. He received a Bachelors of Science Degree from Northern State University in Biology.

On March 1, 1975, he married the love of his life, Joan Buehre. They started their lives together in Aberdeen, where they lived for several years. Then moved to Rapid City where they have resided since 1979. In 1981, their first child, Jennifer, was born and later passed away due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. In 1983, they were blessed with twin daughters, Becky and Sarah. Throughout the next two and a half decades he battled many setbacks due to his declining health, but continued to work and raise a family showing every one what a strong and positive man he was.

In 2001, he started his own business, Industrial Testing. In 2004 and 2005, his grandchildren, Alissa and Taylor Scott, were born. They were the light of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Joan, Rapid City, two daughters, Sarah Krikac and Becky (Luke) Scott, both of Rapid City, his mother, Phyllis (John) Wells, Aberdeen, SD, brother, William (Betty) Krikac, Clark, SD, sister, Beth Auwarter, Breckenridge, MN, two grandchildren, Alissa and Taylor Scott, both of Rapid City, his mother-in-law Ardy Wilgers, Rapid City, brothers-in-law Mike (Rose) Buehre, Lidgerwood, ND, Doug (LuAnn) Buehre, West Fargo, ND and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, William Krikac, brother, Keith Krikac and daughter Jennifer Krikac.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at South Park United Church of Christ with the Reverend Bruce Herrboldt officiating.

Memorials have been established to the Rushmore Lions Club or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
