I grew up as Darlene Reiners on a farm near Wessington Springs, SD before marrying the love of my life, Ray Fuss, from Redfield.

I spent twenty seven happy years with him raising four children: Cal Fuss, Carmen Fuss, Vickey Fuss and Larry Fuss.

I had a great ride for 85 years with no regrets.

Raised on a farm near Wessington Springs, SD, many of us have heard the stories more than once of riding the bull in the pond, jumping backs of cows with her brother, Marvin, and tormenting the youngest, Clifford.

Upon graduation from high school, she was offered an art scholarship at a college in Minnesota.  When the college representative showed up in a suit and convertible, her father John came out and drove him off with his shotgun.

Beauty college in Huron was where she met her true love, Ray Fuss.

They lived a life of camping, travelling and social events.  Their biggest pleasure was dancing!  Mom was known as a very elegant, gracious and charming woman.  She so loved to create.  Her grandson Zeb has a pastel painting of him feeding a goose at Canyon Lake Park.  She taught me the difference between a weed and a plant in the garden.  Looking back at the photos, I see how much fun she had in life.  She loved nature.  Humming bird feeders were numerous in her Phoenix home.  I watched a humming bird literally pause in front of her as if they were communicating.  One day a humming bird fluttered almost frantically in front of Mom.  Mom stood up and looked into their nest to see the proud parents newly hatched babies!!

Thank you, Mom, for all you taught us; loving nature, being kind and to have fun!  Thank you for all the joy and love you shared with us.

You will always be a part of our lives.
