Darlene Opal Weappa, of Rapid City, South Dakota, died Friday, December 22, at the Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 14, 1932, in Minnesota. Darlene was married to Clyde on March 3, 1951, in Sebeka, Minnesota. They were united in love for 66 years.

Darlene loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brightened her days.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Clyde, children: Barb and Paul Knapp, Rapid City, Alan and Karen Weappa, Boulder, Colorado, Darla and Steve Jones, Rapid City, Robert and Lorie Weappa, Fort Collins, Colorado, grandchildren: Jason and Stephanie Knapp, Chad and Suzy Knapp, Danica and Romeo Baylosis, Heidi and Mike Frost, Alannah Weappa, Jessica and Brian Fleming, Casey and Nora Jones, Zoey, Aubrey, and Brodey Weappa; 12 greatgrandchildren; her sister Geraldine Hepola, Stillwater, Minnesota. Darlene was predeceased by her parents, stepfather, four sisters, one brother, and one grandson, Andrew Jones.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 28, at 11:30 A.M. at South Canyon Lutheran Church, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to South Canyon Lutheran Church.
