Darline Martha Hill, 96, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in Rapid City.  She was born on November 29, 1927 in Wall, SD to Fred and Martha Mayer.  She moved to Tripp, SD and graduated high school there.  Darline then moved to Rapid City and lived with her older sisters after graduation.  On April 5, 1947 she married Frank Hill at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Rapid City.  They had one son, David.  She worked at EAFB Cleaners and Kelly Cleaners in Rapid City for 17 years until her retirement.  After Frank's passing in 1997, she continued living in her own home until age 94.  She then moved to Echo Ridge Assisted Living in 2021.  In August 2023 she moved to Clarkson Health Care where she resided until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her parents, sisters and brothers.  She is survived by her son, David (Diane) Hill, Rapid City, granddaughter Lyndsey (Jeremy) Hauer, Rapid City, grandson, Corey (Rebecca) Hill, Bellingham, WA; and great-grandchildren; Jackson Hauer, Tayler Hauer, Pierson Hauer, Dylan Hill and Casey Grosso.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins including Sherryl (Floyd) Lewis, Rapid City; Jim (Kelly) Jackson, Rapid City, and special family; Deb and Don Hauer, Rapid City, Matt and Mercedes Hauer, Rapid City.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Clarkson Health Care for the loving and excellent care that was given to their mom.  Grammie loved her family more than anything and she was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 8 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Rapid City, with a luncheon following the service. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
