RAPID CITY – Darrell C. Anderson passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the age of 85.

Darrell was born on March 24, 1931, in Newell, SD, to Carl and Carrie Anderson. He graduated from Newell High School in 1949 before attending Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. They returned to the family farm and ranch in Newell, where they started their own family. They moved to Rapid City, SD, in June of 1971 where he owned the John Deere dealership. He later owned and operated Anderson Manufacturing and Repair for many years. He retired as a Millwright Machinist from Merillat in 1995. He worked at American Concrete from where he retired a second time. He ultimately retired a third time from Manufacturing Solutions in 2014.

Darrell will always be remembered as a talented machinist and inventor, known for his patented Portable Hydraulic Wool Sacker. He had a quick wit and an infectious giggle. He was a kind and generous man who loved God and his family. He will be dearly missed.
