David Earl Brown, 72, died peacefully on March 5 at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dave was born December 24, 1953 in Casper, WY to John and Virginia (Doores) Brown. He attended schools in Powder River, Upton and Midwest, WY, graduating from Midwest High School in 1972.

Dave worked various jobs, settling in Rapid City in 1991. He enjoyed fishing, his dogs, and playing cribbage with anyone who wanted to play or learn the game. He had a kind heart and a good sense of humor. He was proud to celebrate 35 years of sobriety.

He is survived by his friend Shannan Fleck, sister Jo (Doug) Kissack of Rozet, WY and brother Ross Brown of Albuquerque, NM, and favorite sister-in-law Georgia Brown of Big Lake, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Cindy Boyle and brothers Ken Brown and Ed Brown, and stepmother Caryl (Spiva) Brown.

A family graveside gathering will be held at the Custer Cemetery on Sunday.
