David Francis Deeny, 76, passed away in his home Tuesday, June 13, 2023.  Dave was born October 6, 1946, in Waucoma IA, to Donald Francis Deeny and Corine Bodensteiner Deeny. He was the oldest of 11 children.

He served in the US Air Force (1966-1970) and was stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson AZ.

Dave was married to Joan Bergemann in Bloomington, MN in 1974 where they started their family.  In 1987 they relocated to Rapid City, SD  to start an industrial electronics business named Rapid Controls.  The Black Hills provided Dave with an ideal location to pursue his passion of riding motorcycles on and off-road.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents and brother John.  Survivors include his wife Joan of 48 years; son John, daughter Molly and son-in-law Tim, grandchildren Jacob, Lucy, Thomas and Violet.  Survivors also include nine brothers and sisters.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.  A Christian Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church with a luncheon to follow.  Graveside services will be on Tuesday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery.  A funeral procession to the cemetery will leave Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m.
