Obituary

RAPID CITY- David L. Mosey, 76, died Tuesday, May 26, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. David was born to Abe and Bernadine Mosey on September 1, 1938 in Breckenridge, Minnesota. He grew up in Veblen and Milbank South Dakota, graduating from Milbank High School in 1956. Dave attended Northern State College before enlisting in the Army for three years with part of that time in Germany. Dave and Janice Nord were united in marriage in December, 1961. They were blessed with three sons: David, Paul, and Timothy. In 1971, the family moved to Rapid City where Dave owned and operated several restaurants/bars including Anchor Lounge, Esquire Club, and finally Fireside Inn, which burned in 1982. Dave reacquired the rebuilt Fireside Inn which in following years became a legend. He was very proud of his successful years in the restaurant business. Dave had been a member of the Notre Dame Club of the Black Hills, Buckeroos, Custer Trail Rides, as wells as the U.S. Marshalls Posse and American Legion. Dave loved the Black Hills and taking advantage of all the beauty and serenity surrounding him. Survivors include his wife, Janice; sons: David (Janice); Paul (Rhea); Timothy (Gail); and five grandchildren; sisters: Charlene Madison; Georgene Erickson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Christian Funeral mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on June 2, at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Brian Lane presiding. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with full military honors rendered by the Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota Army National Guard. Memorials have been established the American Cancer Society of a charity of the donor's choice.
