RAPID CITY – David R. Pigott, 69, of Rapid City, passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2024 at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.

David was born on October 27th, 1954 in Cherokee, Iowa to Ronald and Ruth (Fuchs) Pigott.

David set forth in life at a young age to be happy and free no matter what came his way. David spent 20+ years as a machinist and line man for GE in Rapid City until he retired. David then met his best friend for life, his honorary grandson, Jacob Crecelius and spent the remainder of his life by Jake's side. Whether it was being his right-hand man with his tow truck business or cheering him on while he raced. Wherever Jake was, you'd find "Grandpa" with a smile on his face giving a helping hand.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Ruth; his brother, Dean Pigott, and many aunts and uncles.

David is survived by his honorary grandson, Jake Crecelius, Rapid City; along with all of his "FAMILY FOR LIFE" as he called his closest friends. David will always be remembered as Grandpa by all who cared for him and loved him deeply.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating.

Burial will take place at Mountain View Cemetery.
