RAPID CITY- Del Rae Parsons, 63, Rapid City, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born July 7, 1947 in Hot Springs to Robert and Dorothy Walkup. As a young girl she grew up in Osage, Wyoming. Her high school years were spent in Rapid City where she graduated from Rapid City High School in 1965. On April 16, 1966 she married her loving husband, Bill Parsons in Rapid City. During Bills military career in the Air Force, they lived in Guam, Alabama, Anchorage, and finally settled back in Rapid City. She took great and caring pleasure in her family, especially her five grandchildren whom she worshiped and loved to spoil. In addition to her family she enjoyed many activities, such as bowling and crafting. She is survived by her husband, William Bill Parsons; two sons: Daniel Parsons, Sheridan, WY; and Steven Parsons, Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Tracey Gaswint, Sioux City, IA; her father, Robert Walkup, Sparks, NV; two sisters: Shelley Maitland, Milwaukee, WI; Starla Harding, Sparks, NV; and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Michel Mulloy presiding. Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
