Delores "Dee" M. Ermish, 89, of Rapid City, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 West Hills Village Health Care surrounded by her family.
Dee was born on February 9, 1929 in Quinn, SD to George and Lottie (Darner) McGregor.
She married Jack Ermish in Rapid City on December 26, 1946. Dee enjoyed being a stay at home Mom. She was a devoted wife, mom and grandmother. Caring for her husband and children was her priority. She did this with a gentle and loving heart
Dee was a past member of Navy Mothers of America. When Jack was elected an officer with the Telephone Pioneers, she enjoyed traveling with him to conventions. Dee bowled on several daytime bowling leagues and continued this into her 80's. She spent many hours keeping her mind sharp by reading, working crossword puzzles and Sudoku. After moving to Westhills Village Retirement Community she enjoyed Bingo, WII Bowling and working in their pantry.
Dee, her twin sister Darlene Ness and their mutual friend Velva Heath had their weekly coffee visits that continued for 60 plus years.
Dee is survived by her children; Jim (Ronnie) Ermish, Jacksonville, FL, Bob (Sherry) Ermish, Rapid City and Marilyn Ermish, Rapid City, 6 grand children and 6 great grandchildren, her sister in law, Betty Jones, daughter in law, Amy Chetanananda , daughter in law, Lois (Gary) Ermish, numerous nieces and nephews, her special friend, Velva Heath, as well as many new and old friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 1996, her son, Rod, in 2013. Her parents, four brothers; Glen, Roy, Bob and Gale and 8 sisters; Myrtle, Mae, Edna, Ida, Beryl, Velma, Hazel and her twin, Darlene.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
A celebration of Life will be offered on Tuesday, January 15 at 10:00 am at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Inurnment of her ashes will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to Emmanuel Episcopal Chruch.
