RAPID CITY- Deloris Mary Carey, 76, died Sunday, August 7th, in Rapid City, South Dakota.

She was born December 19, 1939 to Harry and Doris Phillippe in Tracy, MN.

Deloris married Robert Hugh Carey on March 31, 1960. They had three children: Rebecca, Michael, and Gregory. They settled in Lancaster, CA, where she enjoyed watching her children participate in sports and other activities. She worked for Gemco, where she greeted customers and often remarked, "Guess who I saw today?" when she got home. She later went to work for Boeing Co. at Edwards Air Force Base. She enjoyed her job and her fellow employees, and sharing stories and her photos of aircraft. She could proudly say that she had seen a space shuttle land in California, and also depart from Florida.

Survivors include a brother, Leland Phillippe, Tracy, CA; daughter, Rebecca Nelson, Rapid City, SD; son, Michael Carey (Robin), also of Rapid City; and son, Gregory Carey (Teri), Lancaster, CA. Surviving grandchildren are Courtney Armstrong (Adam), Arden Nelson, Ashley Carey, and Matthew Carey. Also surviving great granddaughters, Adison Armstrong, Annabel Armstrong and Brynlee Pahl, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and a sister, Joyce Ewing.

The family suggests memorials to Wounded Warriors, Deloris' favorite charity.

Private family service will be held, Saturday, August 13 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
