RAPID CITY- Deloris "Dee" Maurer, 78, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Dee was born September 5, 1933 to Raymond W. and Edna Oliver in Belle Fourche, SD. She married Gerald Bennett and had three children, Tim, Tammy, and Terry. She later moved to Rapid City and married Jim Maurer and had a son, Jimmy Maurer III. She has lived in Rapid City for 45 years. Dee loved crafting, traveling, and shopping. She had a heart of gold and the best qualities. Everyone that met her automatically fell in love with her and instantly thought of her as "mom." She was known for being very generous and would never turn anyone away if they needed help. Survivors include son, Tim Bennett, Rapid City; daughter, Tammy Steever, Gillette, WY; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim Maurer; and two sons, Jimmy Maurer III and Terry Bennett. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. Herb B. Cleveland officiating. A memorial has been established.
