Dennis L. Green, 80, of Rapid City, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 22, 2023.

Dennis Leroy Green was born on December 8, 1942 in Stuart, NE to Everett and Clara (Nicolaus) Green, joining his older brothers, Marlan and Merlin. Dennis grew up on farms in the Naper (NE) and Herrick (SD) areas, and graduated from Naper High School in 1961.

Dennis married in 1966, and worked various jobs in the southcentral part of South Dakota, until moving to Rapid City in 1977. Dennis was divorced in 1988, worked many years as an auto mechanic, several years with Industrial Electric & Supply, and, eventually, with Grimm's Pump & Industrial Supply, where he worked until the time of his passing. Dennis was a faithful member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed sharing his talent of poetry and photography in the monthly newsletter. Dennis was a collector of many different things, enjoyed spending time in Deadwood, and was also a member of the Black Hills Photography Club.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, and sisters-in-law Joan Green and Ellen Green, and is survived by his daughter Kristi (Dave) Baker of Winner, SD; two sons, Tim (Sherry) Green of De Pere, WI, and Lonnie (Brenda) Green of Rapid City, SD; four grandchildren, Bailey Baker, Dalton Baker, Brad (Alesha) Green, and Kensey Green; and two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Green and Liliana Green; as well as several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

A celebration of life for close family and friends will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
