Dixie D. Shreves, 68, of Rapid City, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Rapid City Regional Auxiliary Hospice House.
She was born in Council Bluffs, IA to Gordon and Elaine (Moss) Shreves. She graduated from Lawrence High School in Lawrence, KS in 1965.
Dixie was a strong Democrat and worked on the U.S. Senate and Congressional races in Kansas. In Rapid City, she worked as a receptionist at St Thomas More and most recently, at Furniture Mart.
Dixie was a member of the Catholic Church and volunteered tirelessly at the American Legion,
She is survived by her two brothers; Dennis Shreves and his wife, Sue, Hot Springs, Douglas Shreves and his wife, Kate, Rapid City and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Gordon and Elaine, a brother, David and sister, Debra.
A memorial has been established to the Rapid City Regional Auxiliary Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, February 27. 2016 at the Minneluzahan Senior Center with Fr. Bill Zandri and Pastor Kathleen Batchelder officiating.
