Rapid City – Don Miller, 100, died Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Monument Health Home Plus Hospice House.
Don C. Miller was born to his parents Carl C and Alice A Miller on September 19, 1924 at Troy, SD. After graduating from Waverly High School in 1942 in Waverly, SD he went into the United States Marine Corps from 1945-1946. He was classified as a sharp shooter and assigned to the USS Indiana. He married Wilma A Parker in Oakland, CA in 1946. They returned to Watertown, SD in 1947. Don and his family moved to Rapid City, SD in 1960. Don drove bus for the Jack Rabbit Bus Lines 39 consecutive years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl C and Alice A Miller, his wife of 55 years Wilma A Miller, brother Ronald J Miller, brother Keith Miller, and sister Carlene Tschetter.
The living family members are three sons: Raymond and his wife Bonnie of Mesquite, NV; Harold and his wife Cam of Rapid City, SD; and Larry of Lawton, OK. Don shared his joy for life with 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He also had many nieces and nephews.
Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening for many years. He will be greatly missed by all his family members and friends with whom he shared his life. He was the most wonderful spouse and the greatest father one could have.
Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Knollwood Heights United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Knollwood Heights United Methodist Church in Rapid City and the Hospice House Rapid City.
