Donald James Armstrong, Age 94, of Rapid City, SD, lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease on Saturday, December 5, 2015.

Donald was born June 25, 1921 in Ponca, Nebraska to Edna Campbell and George Armstrong, the youngest of 6 children.   Don married Marian Jane Larson on June 7, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa, and settled in Rapid City in 1951 where he owned and operated Armstrong Auto Sales for more than 25 years.  Don was an active and passionate member of the Rapid City Elks Lodge, holding the position of Secretary for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Janie; his parents George and Edna Armstrong of Ponca, NE; and by brothers Gerald, Carol, Vincent, and Wayne, and sister Marie.

He is survived by his two sons, Mark Armstrong and wife Sandi and Erin Armstrong and wife Lori; 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Tanya, Lauren, Haley, and Tessa; and one great-granddaughter Allison.

A private service for close friends and family has been planned.  Please join us in a celebration of Don's life at Rapid City Elks Lodge on Tuesday, December 15, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
