Donald Marvin Foley, 85 passed away on November 23, 2015, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
He was born September 30, 1930 in Rapid City to Matt and Signa Foley. He was one of six children raised on the family ranch along Elk Creek in the Piedmont Valley. In 1951, he married the love of his life, Pat Foley of Nemo, SD. They were blessed with three children. Don's life was marked by faith in Jesus Christ, love, laughter, and hard work. His faith, his sweet contentment, and his devotion to his wife and family are his living legacy. His last years were difficult physically, yet he finished his earthly life strong and graciously.
He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Pat, children, Debbi (Bruce) Hoogestraat, Doug (Corky) Foley and Darla (Dave) Blue; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, with another one due in March; two sisters, Frances Prestjohn and RuthAnn Plouffe; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, Matt and Signa Foley; brothers, Clifford and Willard Foley, and sister, Florence Robbins.
Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:30 pm on Friday, Nov. 27, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Burial will follow with military honors rendered by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the SD National Guard at Black Hills National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, Nov. 28, at Parkview Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Ron McLaughlin officiating.
Memorials will be directed to the ministries of his grandchildren.
