Rapid City – Donald Stroup, 85, died Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Fountain Springs Healthcare Center.

Donald Eugene Stroup was born March 13, 1937 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania to Virgil and Gladys (Tillet) Stroup. He entered the United States Air Force and retired after more than 20 years after which he received the Bronze Star and the Air Medal. He then received his degree in geological engineering.

Donald is survived by his two daughters: Suzanne (Jack) Ormsby of LaGrange, GA and Karen (Tom) Bielmaier of Rapid City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother David, and sister Phyllis.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Rotunda at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis and there is the requirement that everyone must wear face-masks inside the Rotunda.
