Donivan J. Palmier, 67, was born July 20, 1949 in Hay Springs, Neb. He went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
He moved with his family to Rapid City, where he grew up. He joined the Army and served in Vietnam with the 101st infantry unit from 1967 to 1968. He moved to North Dakota in 1999 where he lived until April 14, 2017 when he was moved to the Royal C. Johnson hospice care unit.
He loved the outdoors and fishing. One of his last requests was to go to the lake. So his son took him on an outing to the lake a few days before his passing. His greatest joy was his children, Jacque and Ryan. He told them "they were the best thing that ever happened to him"
