Donna E. Johnson, 84, died at Rapid City Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 06, 2011. Donna Kelley was born in Clark to Earl and Helen (Hunter) Kelley on November 6, 1926. She grew up in Clark and graduated from high school there. After high school, she was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator. On August 16, 1947, she was united in marriage to Jennings P. Jack Johnson in Rapid City. The couple lived in several South Dakota and Nebraska communities in connection with the phone company. Jack then started the Equitable Life Assurance Company as an agent and the family moved to Chamberlain. She raised her family in Chamberlain, where she also worked in a furniture store. They retired to the Beautiful Black Hills in 1985 and enjoyed traveling with their friends and watching sporting events, especially the Rockies. Donna was involved in Telephone Pioneers and Big Bend Presbyterian Church. She never missed one of her grandkids events, and she had a deep love of her children and grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Boyle, and her husband Hugh, Rapid City; a son, Bill Johnson and his wife, Suzie, Rapid City; a brother, Bill Kelley, Hemet; 2 Sisters, Muriel (Marvin) Long, Hemet and Jeannine Rynerson, Apple Valley, MN and 4 grandchildren, Jen Boyle, Thomas Boyle, Krista Johnson, Daniel Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jennings P. Jack Johnson in 2006, 2 brothers, Dwayne and Richard Kelley and a sister, Maxine Thomson. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Savot officiating. Inurnment will follow in Black Hills National Cemetery.
