KEYSTONE- Donna Louise Marquardt passed away on March 22, 2018 at Rapid City Regional Hospital surrounded by friends at the age of 80.
Donna Louise Marquardt was born to Don and Georgeanna McKie on October 5, 1937 in Antonito, Colorado.
She and her family moved to Denver in 1943. There she attended grade and high school. She obtained her BS in Nursing at the University of Colorado.
Her 40 years of nursing experience included working at the University of Colorado Hospital; moving to Columbia, Missouri where she worked at the University of Missouri, and for the next 18 years she worked at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital.
She moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota in the Keystone area and worked at Rapid City Regional Hospital for nine years.
Donna retired from nursing in June of 1998. After retirement she volunteered several years at the Humane Society of the Black Hills. She was very active in her church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Keystone. She was a greeter for many years at the biker breakfast the churches of Keystone held during the Sturgis Rally and several other community boards.
She loved the Black Hills, her Golden Retrievers, her friends and the Denver Broncos.
She is preceded in death by her parents Don and Georgeanna McKie.
Donna is survived by Tom, Deana, Shane, Micheal, and TC Mulloy; Kay Siemonsma and family; John Zwetzig; the Mutchler family and many more friends.
Rosary service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Keystone.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at the church with Rev. Janusz Korban presiding.
In lieu of flowers, Donna requested that memorials be sent to your favorite charity.
Pizza and chips will be served at the Keystone Community Center following Mass, also Donna's request.
