Donna May Merwin, 72, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Monument Health - Rapid City Hospital.

Donna was born on May 7, 1951, in Biloxi, Mississippi to Frank and Constance (Roule) Noble.  As a child, she traveled the US with her family to wherever the military sent them.  Ultimately, she settled in Rapid City.

During her career, she worked as president of the board of directors for WAVI.  She then started her own day care where she cared for children for 28 years until she retired.

On April 1, 2011, she married Richard Merwin in Rapid City and shared their lives together for the next 13 years.

Donna is survived by her husband, Richard, children, Christopher Strauss, Raymond Strauss and Sarah Stafne (Jason) and Zachary Lewis.  She was also a grandmother to six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Patrick Lewis, her son, Stephen Strauss and her brother, Frank Noble.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
