From 1983 to 1986, with the assistance of dear friends Jerry and Norma Johnson, they operated a square dance resort in Keystone, SD.

After Darlot's passing, Doris found companionship with Gordon Oram. Together, they continued to embrace the joys of square dancing, traveling, motorcycling, and participating in corvette and singles clubs, forging connections with many wonderful people around the world.
