Rapid City - Dorothy L. Hagerty, 93, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Rapid City Regional Hospice Auxiliary House. Dorothy Leona Remily was born May 10, 1921 at Conde, SD to Julian and Myrtle [Fortin] Remily. This is where she attended school and grew to adulthood. She married Paul Quentin Hagerty on January 10, 1943 at Doland, South Dakota. They moved to Lake Andes, SD where Paul worked on the building of the dam. They later moved to Hill City, SD and she became employed in the Pennington County Assessor's Office until she retired. Paul died in 1991 and Dorothy moved to Rapid City. Dorothy is survived by one son: Richard [Sharon] Hagerty of Whitewood, SD; four daughters: Judy [Gary] Gregson of Rapid City, Rose Ann Bennett of Phoenix, AZ, Linda [Robert] Parris of Rapid City, and Diane [John] Coats of Sparks, NV; two brothers: Maurice [Judy] Remily of Rapid City and Marvin "Bud" [Mildred] Remily of Doland; four sisters: Gladys Bowman of Inverness, FL, Rachel Coats of Rapid City, Elaine Rahm of Turton, SD, and Marvel [Jim] Mann of Minneapolis, MN; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and two brother's-in-law: Quentin Miles of Aberdeen and Bob Haney of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 infant brothers, 2 sisters: Lila Miles and Lorene Haney; and 1 great-grandson: Kyle Van Horn. Christian Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Tuesday, October 21 at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hill City with Rev. Janusz Korban as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at the Hill City Cemetery.
