Dorothy Marie Hudson, age 97, of Rapid City, South Dakota made her journey to the spirit world on November 16, 2015 surrounded by family.

She was born September 22, 1918 in Wood, South Dakota to Clarence Orvil and Nellie (Brave Boy) Dustrude.  She attended and graduated from St. Francis Indian School, St. Francis, South Dakota.     Dorothy and her late husband Paul Adrian Hudson moved to Rapid City, SD in 1949 and made their life here raising eight children.  She was a homemaker and taught her daughters the skills that came easy for her.  Some of those skills came from necessity, like sewing clothes for school.  Her favorite pastimes in her later years were playing solitaire, putting together jigsaw puzzles, working crossword puzzles, crocheting, and relaxing by watching old westerns, game shows and a few soap operas.

Dorothy is survived by six children Gloria Rittenberry of Ashland City, Tennessee;  Paulette (Donald) Montileaux of Rapid City, South Dakota; Diana Hudson of Piedmont, South Dakota; Geraldine (Bill) Eby of Broad Run, Virginia; Paul (Deborah) Hudson, Rapid City, South Dakota; and Steven (Ilana) Hudson, Rapid City, South Dakota; 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Adrian Hudson, her sister and three brothers, one daughter Janet Schultz of Holdrege, Nebraska, and one son Harold "Sonny" Hudson of Rapid City, South Dakota.

Visitation will be at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 221 Knollwood Drive on Friday November 20, 2015 at 6:00pm, rosary at 7:00pm; Catholic mass services will be on Saturday November 21, 2015 at 10:00 am.

Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery alongside her husband Paul. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
