Obituary

Dorthea Lou Mae Lesher, 90, died in her sleep at home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Dorothy was born to Tollef and Lena (Nerby) Tollefson on March 7, 1927 in Robinson, North Dakota.  She graduated from high school in 1945 in Steele, North Dakota.  She married Keith M. Lesher on November 25, 1947.

Dorothy was a homemaker for many years while her husband served in the United States Air Force.  She especially enjoyed being stationed in Tokyo, Japan. They retired in Rapid City in 1972 after being stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base for nine years. She volunteered for Family Services and served on the Black Hills Girl Scout Council for many years.  She later worked as the Assistant Director of the Rapid City Children's Center daycare.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Keith M. Lesher, her five siblings, Ted Tollefson, Martin Tollefson, Clarence Tollefson, Milla Schoof and Agnes Bailey.

Survivors include one son, Roger (Patty) Lesher of Hillsboro, Oregon, two daughters, Becky Holloway of Rapid City, and Kim (Blake) Parke of Sioux Falls, SD.  Dorothy was the proud grandmother to Gabe (Christy) Holloway, Morgan Parke, Amanda Parke and Brayden Parke.

A memorial service will be held at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Mountain View Cemetery.
