Rapid City - Edith Catherine Talley, 92, of Rapid City, SD, passed away November 6, 2014 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Edith was born November 27, 1921 in Charles Mix County, South Dakota, the third of four daughters, to Henry H and Christina M (Hatting) Snyder. In 1934 the family moved to Breda, Iowa where Edith grew to young womanhood and met Clayton H Talley to whom she was united in marriage on September 9, 1941 in Rapid City, SD. To this union one son and two daughters were born. They made their home on a ranch near Stoneville, SD until 1959 when they moved to a ranch close to Belle Fourche. Clayton passed away in 1972 after which time Edith moved to Rapid City. Gardening, golfing, crocheting, traveling and playing cards and bingo were some of the things she enjoyed. Edith is survived by her son, Larry (Janet) Talley of Rapid City; daughter, Shirley (Fred) Sanders of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Dianne (Raymond) Stotts of Murdo, SD; 5 grandchildren, Brian Keffeler; Stephanie Poppen; Stacey Booth; Jeremey Stotts and Rick Stotts , 9 great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law Ellen Talley, Thelma Healey and Arlene Beebe In addition to her parents and her husband, Edith was preceded in death by her 3 sisters, Wilhelmina, in infancy, Marie Snyder in 2004 and Leona Wood in 2012. A special thanks to the staff at Clarkson Health Care in Rapid City for the loving care they provided her over the past year. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 4500 Jackson Boulevard, with Christian Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Rev. Grant Gerlach as celebrant. There will be a private burial at the Pineslope Cemetery at Belle Fourche. A Memorial will be established by the family.
