Edna L. Handley, 94, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Custer Regional Senior Care Center. Edna was born on May 27, 1920, in Napier, Nebraska to Louis John and Anna Marie (Schultz) Handley. She moved to Rapid City in 1940 and was united in marriage to Harvey Handley in December of 1940. Edna was always involved in Peace Lutheran Church. Survivors include 2 daughters, Arlene (Ron) Powers and Donna (Don) Riddle; a special niece she raised as a daughter, Debra Penwell; 2 sisters, Margaret Handley and Wilma Aubut; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harvey in 1998; sisters, Alma Gentle, Ann Hill, Clara Fuhrer and Eleanora Bryan and a brother, Louis Kortmeyer. Her memorial service will be 3 pm Thursday, Oct 30 at Peace Lutheran Church, 219 E. Saint Anne Street. Burial will be following at Pine Lawn Memorial Park.
