Black Hawk – Edward Paul "Fast Eddie" Schmidt, 68, died Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Rapid City Regional Hospice Auxiliary House.

Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Black Hawk Bar and Grill at Black Hawk.

Edward Paul Schmidt was born August 5, 1949 at Pierre, SD to Paul Edward and Gladys May (Herron) Schmidt. He attended school and graduated from high school. He was the highest educated from the Schmidt family as he attended many years at Penn State. He has worked at numerous jobs in his lifetime in the area.

Survivors include his children: Rick Schmidt of Black Hawk and his children Conner and Riley; Colleen Schmidt of Box Elder and her children Eric, Cody, and Elijah; Sarah Farr of Sioux Falls and her children Dani "Cowboy", Ashton, and Jas; and Justin Farr of Sioux Falls; three sisters: Diana Polzin of Sioux Falls, Kathy (Dan) Brown of Black Hawk, and Patty (Darrell) Moore of Black Hawk; and several nieces and nephews.

Fast Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Paula.
