RAPID CITY- On July 22, 2016 Edward C. Hill went home to Jesus.

He was born in Rapid City, SD on December 31, 1920 to Elsie and Harry Hill. He grew up in Faith and Piedmont, SD.

On February 28, 1942 he married Anna Kortmeyer and they lived and worked in Rapid City.

He was a loving brother, husband, and father who worked hard for his family. He was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Fountain Springs Health Care for their special help.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Vernon, wife, Anna, and infant daughter, Mary Carol.

He is survived by his sister: Shirley (Kurt) Moorhead; daughters: Pat (Jerry) Jessen, Rapid City; Barb (Dave) Swenson, Libby, MT; grandchildren: Jill (Nathan) Frerichs, OR; Jay (Jolene) Jessen, CA; Chris (Tina) Swenson, MT; Jessie (Eric) Klepfer, ID; Kara (Jason) Matthews, MT; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. David Schwan officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Interment will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Zion Lutheran's building fund.
