Elaine Englebert, 88, of Rapid City, passed away at Westhills Village Health care on Sunday, January 1, 2017.

Pauline Faith Elaine Englebert was born on September 4, 1928 in Pierre, SD to Theodore and Stella (Cressman) Englebert.

Elaine grew up in Pierre and eventually moved to Wheaton, Illinois where she lived with her mother. She worked in food service and with Episcopal ministries until moving with her mother back to Rapid City. They were among the first residents at Westhills Village.

Elaine was exuberant in her life and was intimate with the rules of card games. She instigated many cards games throughout her time at Westhills Village. She was a prayerful person and a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and the Westhills Episcopal ministry.

Elaine is survived by many cousins; including Sherill Price and Diane Kreimann, both of Rapid City, Dennis Price, Luling, LA and Jay Price, St Charles, MO and their families.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with a visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in Mt View Cemetery under the direction of Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Altar Guild.
