PorcupineEldean J. Weston, 74, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Eldean Joan Iron Cloud was born May 5th, 1939 in Gordon, Nebraska, to Ike and Irene (Pourier) Iron Cloud. Porcupine is where she called home, working cattle and riding horse with her brothers Paul and Myron (Babe). Her education started at Our Lady of Lourdes School. She loved reminiscing about the days when they would ride horseback to school and how they would have to, "Run out at lunchtime and feed em a little oats." She continued her high school education at Oglala Community School and was in the graduating class of 1958. Shortly after high school, Eldean married Spencer Weston in Chicago, Illinois. She loved to share stories about her Illinois adventures with her children, grandchildren, cousins, and friends. Eldean and Spencer moved home to Porcupine and started their family welcoming Carmen, Farrell (Bodie), Marlin (Moon), Troy (Scott), Lionel (Beans), and Colleen. Her priority was her family, and she was a wonderful homemaker and stay at home mom. Of course, along with the good times came the sad. Eldean lost her brother Babe, her father and mother, her youngest daughter Colleen, a grandson BJ, her husband Spencer, and her son Moon. Even through the darkest times, Eldean turned to God and remained the pillar of strength for her family. Although she will truly be missed, we take comfort knowing that she had such a wonderful group of people ready to welcome her into Heaven. We are so grateful to have been blessed with Eldean's laughter, love, and guidance. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, mother-n-law, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will truly be missed by her children Carmen and Silos, Bodie and Sandy, Scott and Carol, Beans and Thetna, and Evie; her grandchildren Wacey, Chance (Kat), Derek (Nicole), Kristin, Kiley, Colby, and Jazzy; great-grandchildren Jojo, Sissy, Marley, and Rio; brother Paul (Mary), cousins Donna (Bub) Eagle Bull and Betty June Patton; along with many nieces and nephews. Wake services will begin at 4:00 pm Monday, March 10, at Christ the King in Porcupine. To honor Eldean's wishes, Mass will be at 5:00 am Tuesday, March 11, with a sunrise burial to follow.
