Eleanor A. Ellenbecker, of Issaquah, WA, and formerly of Rapid City, passed away on February 28, 2009, at Providence Marionwood. Eleanor was born on February 28, 1913, in Ellinsville, SD, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Bietler) Sangster. She was raised in Seneca, SD and married Leo Ellenbecker on June 29, 1933, in Faulkton, SD. They moved to Rapid City, SD in 1950 and later to Portland, OR in 1973. She moved to Issaquah, WA in 1990. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and in her leisure time she enjoyed sewing, reading, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, church activities and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include a daughter, Marge (Larry) Bartle, of Bellevue, WA, son, Douglas (Bertha) Ellenbecker, of Dickinson, ND; 8 grandchildren, Mike Clinton, Paul and Wayne Ellenbecker, Pam Hills, Scott, Corey and Brian Bartle and Kelly Taylor; 9 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Kelsey, Jeremy, Nicole, Alexis, Brittney, Luke, Landon and Micah. Her husband, Leo, daughter, Phyllis and son Doyle Ellenbecker preceded her in death. A Rosary service and funeral Mass were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Issaquah, WA, on March 5, 2009. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Fr. William Zandri officiating. Family and friends will gather at 9:45 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
