RAPID CITY--Eleanor M. Tracy, 78, died at Rapid City Regional Hospital Hospice House on Friday, November 14, 2008. Eleanor was born on March 1, 1930, in New Salem, ND, to George and Elizabeth (Brilz) Fetsch. The family operated the local hotel and restaurant. There she met Lewis Tracy, to whom she was united in marriage on August 8, 1950. In 1957, they moved to Rapid City, where they raised 4 children. Eleanor was a wonderful mom and grandma. She enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross and she also worked part-time for Barber Transportation and for Lewis in his business ventures. Her hobbies included bowling in league, skeet shooting and spending time with their kids at Angostura Reservoir. When they retired in 1989, they spent their time dancing, going to Karaoke and golfing. She was so proud of her hole-in-one. Survivors include her husband, Lewis Tracy, Rapid City; 3 daughters, Sheri Reindl, Kansas City, Vickie (Tim) Mollett, Billings, MT and Betty Lou (Dino) Kazantzis, West Milford, NJ; a son, Loran (Bonnie) Tracy Rapid City; a sister, Josephine Buttshaw, Minneapolis; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. The funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Dwight Stensgaard officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. A memorial has been established to RCRH Auxiliary Hospice House.
