Bette went to Catholic School in Bisbee Arizona until the family moved to Fall City, Tx and she continued her education in Floresville, Tx.  Most of Bette's professional career was as an insurance adjuster starting in San Antonio, TX and then transferring to Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.  She retired after 38 years with the company.

Bette never married or had children of her own but loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.  She was a devout Catholic and took great pleasure in teaching Catechism class to children and sharing her faith with her many nieces and nephews.

Bette was an independent spirit with a sense of adventure.  She loved to travel and visited many states from New York to Hawaii.  She also traveled to South America, Canada, and Europe.  She had a lifelong friend from Canada that she met on trip to the Grand Canyon.  They were pen pals for 38 years.  Bette and her sister Rose finally made it Canada to visit.
