Elizabeth J. "Liz" Rau, 92, of Rapid City, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Elizabeth Novak Rau was born on February 11, 1924 to John and Frances (Kruylac) Novak in Wessington Springs, SD. She moved with her family at the age of four to Stephan, SD where she attended country school. Liz graduated Valedictorian from Highmore High School in 1943.

Banking was her profession, working for banks in South Dakota and Beverly Hills, CA.

Liz worked for Robbins and Stearns Lumber company for 25 years, retiring in 1986.

She moved to West Hills Retirement Village in 1990 where she has lived since.

A visitation will begin at 3:00pm, Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral home, followed by a Christian Wake service and Rosary recitation at 4:00pm. A Christian Funeral Mass will be offered at 1:00pm, Monday, March 21 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Fr. Michel Mulloy presiding. Interment will be in the Mt Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Elizabeth Seton Grant fund for deserving students.
