Ella J. Moore, 84, formerly of Rapid City, died at her home on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Ella was born on March 26, 1932, in Mercer, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Clara (Boschee) Stute. She grew up on her parents' farm in Mercer, and attended classes at the one room school through graduation. After graduation, she worked in Bismarck for a time until she met Gerald Moore. She married Gerald on August 9, 1954, at Mercer. They resided in Minneapolis, Minn. for a time then Zeeland, ND and eventually Rapid City. Ella moved to Colorado Springs in January of 2013 to be closer to family.
Survivors include three sons, Daryl Moore and his wife Jill, of Ely, Nevada, Michael Moore, of Boise, Idaho and Donald Moore, of Olympia, Washington; her daughter, Karen McDonald and her husband Brett, of Colorado Springs; her Son-in-law, Bob Amos, of Thornton, Colorado; her sister, Phoebe Haugeberg, of Minot, North Dakota and three granddaughters.
She was preceded in death my her husband , Gerald, her daughter, Marilyn Amos, her parents, and her brother Ervin Stute.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rapid City with the Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery at 3:00 pm. A luncheon will follow the burial at the church.
