Ellen T. Geib, 79, of Rapid City, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Corner Brook Newfoundland Canada to Frank and Nellie Gushue. She married Richard C. Geib in Cornerbrook on June 2, 1951 . Richard's military career allowed them to travel extensively to all corners of the world. They retired from the military in 1971 in Rapid City to settle and raise their family. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Flowers by LeRoy for many years. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Golden Link #14 Eastern Star, Past President of B.P.O Does, Elks Lodge 1187, Past Queen of Ismah Temple #119, Daughters of the Nile, and Past President of Nydia Club. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening, and always preferred tea over coffee. Ellen took great pleasure in her family and friends and had an intense zest for life. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren always offering guidance, wisdom, and a fresh batch of cookies. Survivors include her son Robert Geib and his fiance Sharon Randle, The Woodlands, TX. Her daughter Carol Stork and her husband Bill Stork, their children, Hannah and Alec Stork, Mandan, ND. Her sisters Anne Brooks, Midwest City, OK, Christina Gonzalez, Melbourne, FL, and her brother Raymond Gushue, Cornerbrook, Newfoundland Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard. Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, April 20, with a Daughters of the Nile service 5 p.m. at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Services will be 10:30am, Tuesday, April 21st at the Funeral Home with Rev. Mark McCormick officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetary near Sturgis.
