Elva Blogg, age 85, a former DeSmet resident, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Golden Living Center- Covington Heights in Sioux Falls.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, December 28, at American Lutheran Church in DeSmet. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm, at the church, with the Rev. Randy Koeller officiating.  Burial will be in DeSmet Cemetery.

Elva Delores (Bogstad) Blogg was born outside of Hetland, South Dakota to Emil and Olivia (Pederson) Bogstad on January 13, 1931. Elva grew up in the DeSmet area and attended school there. She was married to Carl Blogg on October 10, 1956. They lived in the DeSmet area working and raising a family. They were married for 45 years until Carl passed away on December 3, 2001. Elva remained in DeSmet until 2011 when she moved to Golden Living Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Elva is survived by her sons, Bill (Becky) Blogg of Sioux Falls, SD and John (Kellie) Blogg of St. Simons Island, GA; grandchildren, Jack, Jenna, Jordyn, Carley and Kingston; sister Darlene Larsen of Lake Preston, SD and many loving nieces and nephews.

Elva was preceded in death by her husband Carl; brothers James, Duane, Ronald and Earl Bogstad and her parents Emil and Olivia Bogstad.
