Obituary

BOULDER, Colo. - Emma Ham, 93, formerly of Rapid City, S.D., died Monday, April 30, 2012, at Frasier Meadows AB House Healthcare Center. Emma Brunner was born May 6, 1918, in Windsor, Colo., to Carl and Anna (Schafer) Brunner. This is the area where she attended school and grew to adulthood. She married Ward Leigh Ham on May 18, 1941, at Nisland, S.D. They moved to Rapid City in 1953 where Emma was employed at Hardware Hank. Her husband died Dec. 10, 1983. Emma moved to Boulder in 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Steberl, Mill Creek, Wash., and Lorelle Fenton, Golden; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Ed Brunner, Rapid City; and sister, Esther Langdon, Casper, Wyo. Emma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Harlan; two brothers; and two sisters. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, at the funeral home, with Dr. Richard Wells officiating. Interment will follow at noon at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. A memorial has been established.
