Obituary

Esther Lorraine Lehmann, 67, passed away March 16, 2009 at the Rapid City Regional Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Esther was born on December 18, 1941 in Murdo, SD to Jacob and Betty (Armstrong) Bechtold. She was raised in Valentine, NE and graduated from Valentine High School in 1959. She attended National Business College in Rapid City. She was united in Marriage to Albert Lehmann on July 31, 1962 in Valentine NE. They made their home in Mission SD. Esther served as the Finance Officer for the City of Mission for eight years and also served a term as the Mayor for the City of Mission. She worked many years for the Todd County School District, and was the non-foods assistant manager at the Mission Shopping Center. She and Albert moved to Rapid City in July of 1982. Esther graduated from Western Dakota Technical School in 1994. She held a variety of jobs over the years. She was a dispatcher for Security Systems, Consumer Relations Specialist at Greentree and later at AGI; she was an area manager for RGIS Inventory Systems and worked at General Beadle Elementary for many years. She also worked in the fabric department at the Ben Franklin store and most recently was employed at RC & D. Esther coached and managed girls softball teams through the Rushmore Little League. She is survived by her husband Al, of Rapid City. sons; Richard and his wife Michele, Robert, her daughter, Linda Wendt and her husband JR, all of Rapid City and her daughter Debra Points At Him and her husband Clayton of Casper, WY. A sister, Bonnie Carter and her husband Gene, of Rapid City. Her 11 loving grandchildren Michele, Joshua, Lance, Lacey and Lyle Lehmann, Natalie and Ava Wendt all of Rapid City and Dustin, Kirby, Evan and Caleb Points At Him of Casper, WY, her three great grandchildren Alexis and Kylea Becker and Lucah Lehmann all of Rapid City. She is also survived by a niece Kathy Carter, and nephews Dan and Don Carter and their families and many cousins. She is also survived by a special aunt, Lorraine Clark and family of Waterloo Iowa. She was preceded in death by her Parents. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00PM Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, March 20 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Peterson, First Wesleyan Church of Sturgis officiating. Interment will be in Mt View Cemetery.
