Evelyn Mae Dvoracek of Rapid City, SD died on Thursday, August 11, 2022.  She was born at Wagner, SD on July 24, 1923 to Emil B. Mazourek and Rose (Kocmick) Mazourek.  She attended school and grew to womanhood in the Wagner area.

On Sept 10, 1946, she married Eugene (Gene) Dvoracek, the love of her life, at Wagner, SD. They had one son, Richard Eugene.  They lived on a farm south of Wagner, and in 1957 moved to Rapid City, SD, where they spent the rest of their lives.

Evelyn worked for Montana-Dakota Utilities Company for 30 years.  She retired in March of 1986.  She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, The Twelve Apostles, Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary, and various Bridge clubs. She volunteered at the Rapid City Hospital Gift Shop.  She crocheted, loved her house plants as well as her garden and flowers. In addition, she loved to dance, play cards and play Bingo.

Evelyn is survived by her son Richard, daughter-in-law, Barbara, of Vail, AZ., her sister Elaine (Mrs. JB) Weber of Parkston, SD, and many special nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, her parents, two brothers in infancy, her brothers Tom and LaVern, her two sisters-in-law, Lillian Mazourek and Delores Mazourek and her former daughter-in-law, Kathy.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Blvd, Rapid City, SD.  Light refreshments and a time for fellowship will follow at the funeral home.  The committal service will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery following the gathering at the funeral home.
