RAPID CITYFauniel M. Funny Kilgore, 86, passed away at Rapid City Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 27, 2008. Funny was born on December 26, 1921, in Gregory, SD to John M. and Rose M. (Drapeaux) Hudson. She grew up in St. Francis and graduated from St. Francis Mission and then went to college in Minneapolis. She married Cecil LaGrande in 1942. They lived in Rosebud, Wagner and then to Idabelle, OK in 1944. Funny moved back to Rapid City and later married Ralph Kilgore in 1948. She taught at Marty at the St. Paul Indian Mission. The family then moved to Las Vegas, Watsonville, CA and Auburn, CA. In 1969, they moved back to California, and worked at a paint company as a bookkeeper. She retired and moved back to Rapid City in 1989. In 1991 she moved into Jackson Heights High Rise, where she has lived since. Survivors include 3 sons, Quintin LaGrande and his wife, Sharon, Rapid City, William LaGrande, Lawton, MI and Johnny Kilgore and his wife Sheila, Lake Andes; 3 daughters, Susan Larson and Jerry Lamont, Rapid City, Margaret Bar, Aurora, CO and Louise Fuller, Idabelle, OK; a brother, Donald Hudson, Rapid City; a sister, Gloria Traversie, Faith; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at St. Isaac Jogues Church in Rapid City with Father David Matzko, S. J. presiding. Lunch will be served at the Jackson Heights Highrise Community Room, 1805 W. Fulton St., following the funeral mass.
