Rapid City - Faye Marie [Whittecar] Messer, 77, Rapid City, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital surrounded by family. She was born August 27, 1935 in Mitchell, SD to Dale and Lola [Wilson] Whittecar. On June 14, 1953 she married Ronald Messer in White Lake, SD. They moved to Rapid City in 1956. She retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. Faye is Survived by daughter Kim [Mike] Howe of Casper, WY; son Kane[Deb] Messer of Rapid City; granddaughters: Jill [Coby] Davis, Kaylene [Justin]Oliver, Casper, WY, Tara [Devon] Wilson of Spearfish, Carrie of Rapid City; grandson Corey [Brandy] Messer of Glenrock, WY; two great-granddaughters: Riley and Reese; sisters: Ruth Ann[Dennis] McCormick of Blair, NE; Judy [J.B.] Webb of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Mag [Dennis] Hall of Lake Stevens, WA; and Nancy [Dick] Smith of Everett, WA. brother Doug Whittecar of Tacoma, WA; and several nieces and nephews. Special friends, Herb and Connie Cleveland and church family were a blessing in Faye's life. Preceding her in death were husband Ron, son Kurt, parents, brothers Tom and Bill, and sister Barb. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 5311 Sheridan Lake Road with Rev. Herb B. Cleveland and Rev. Kirstin Kellahar officiating. Inurnment will be next to her husband and son at Mountain View Cemetery, Rapid City.
