RAPID CITYFlorence Mae (McKee) Knutson, 89, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born at Salem, McCook County, South Dakota on May 9, 1918 the daughter of Roy and Anna (Zastrow) McKee. Her family moved to Sioux Falls when she was one year old. She attended Hawthorne Grade School and graduated from Washington High School in 1937. She was united in marriage to Royal Bill Knutson at Canton, South Dakota on April 28, 1937. To this union were born three children, Carol, Marlis and Roger Knutson. The family moved to Rapid City in 1941. In 1943 her husband was called into the service and she went back to Sioux Falls from 1943 to 1945. When he returned from World War II, they moved back to Rapid City. In 1948 they bought a farm near Black Hawk, where they ran a dairy for 25 years. They retired and lived on the farm until her death. She was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church in Rapid City since 1946 and belonged to Womens Ministries and sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed china painting. Survivors include her husband Royal Bill Knutson, Rapid City; three children, Carol Marso, Hill City, Marlis Legner, Rapid City and Roger Knutson and his wife Lucille, Rapid City; nine grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Dayle McKee. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at First Evangelical Free Church in Rapid City with Rev. David Greenhood officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park.
