Florence Jean Stewart, 85, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 peacefully at her home with her daughters at her side.

Florence was born July 12, 1936 in Sutton West Virginia to Lenora Combs Stewart and Anderson Daniel Stewart. She was one of 10 children.
Florence married Leo J. Crawford in 1955 in Lockport New York. From this union came four children. Deborah, Edwin, Theresa, and Cynthia. Florence and Leo settled in Laurel Maryland where they lived until they divorced. Florence continued to live in Maryland and raised her children there.
Florence worked various jobs throughout her life. She worked as a circuit board assembler for which she received many awards.

She married James McGirt in 1980. They spent several years together traveling and enjoying their motorcycle before their divorce.
In 1999 she retired Southern California where she lived for two years before moving with her daughter Cynthia and husband James and their family to Black Hawk SD where she lived her remaining days.

Florence enjoyed good company, good music, fast cars, and family. She was a hardworking and determined woman. She raised four children on a factory job with no public assistance of any kind.

Survivors include her Daughter Deborah (Steve) Lysczek, her daughter Cynthia Hoag , and 21 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Theresa, her son Edwin, son in-law James, and one great grandchild, Claire Szeliga.

Funeral services will be held at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 16, at 11:00 am.
