Obituary

RAPID CITY- Frances D. Toscana, 94, of Rapid City died November 29, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Black Hills in Rapid City. Frances was born on March 21, 1918 in Lead, South Dakota to Antonio and Marian (Marchiando) Perucca. She graduated from Lead High School in 1935. On June 25, 1942, she married Francis J. Toscana in Lead. Frances worked as a bookkeeper at Hearst Mercantile in Lead, City Service in Minneapolis, and for her husband's dental office. Frances was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She enjoyed cooking for her family and playing bridge. She loved being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Survivors include two sons: Vic Toscana and his wife Dixie, Rapid City; Francis Toscana and his wife Kathy, Deadwood; three grandchildren: Victor F. Toscana, Gillette; Anthony Toscana and his wife Jennifer, Perth, Australia; Katherine Toscana, Richland, Washington; four great grandchildren: Cassie, Abby, Tori, and Victor Toscana, all of Gillette; six step grandchildren, Richard Stalcup and his wife Susan, Virginia; Randy Stalcup, Rapid City; Callie Chesmore and her husband Randy, Gillette; Tom Stalcup and his wife Cathy, Gillette; Penny Eubank and her husband Clinton, Gillette; and John Stalcup and his wife Karen, Alabama; and numerous step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Francis in 2003. Private family interment will be on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Rev. William Zandri presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House.
