Schroth

BUFFALO GAP – Frank R. "Hap" Schroth, 79, died Friday, March 18, 2022 at Monument Health.
Hap was born on November 23, 1942, and grew up the son of Rudolph and Louise Schroth. Following high school, Hap went to college for five years where he completed flight school. He became a flight instructor and crop sprayer. Hap was also the Strike Team Leader.
He married Loretta Lewis in 1960. Hap and Loretta made Buffalo Gap their home, where he ranched alongside his family. He was the Fire Chief for the Buffalo Gap Volunteer Fire Department for 55 years. He was involved in the Fall River Sheriff Posse and a Founder for the Fire Advisory Board.
Hap loved flying, fighting fires, and raising Hereford cattle. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and dedicated servant to the community.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph; mother, Louise, grandson: Gary Shorb; and daughter in law, Cherie Schroth.
Hap is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loretta; daughter, Lori; son, Randy; grandchildren: Cory (Jess); Tyrel; Dillon (Jana); Travis and Caleb; great grandchildren: Sloan, Rylinn and Jeysa; and great great grandchildren: Henslee and Hank.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Buffalo Gap Fire Hall with a luncheon following at the auditorium.
