Obituary

"Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting: The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star, Hath had elsewhere its setting, And cometh from afar: Not in entire forgetfulness, And not in utter nakedness, But trailing clouds of glory do we come From God, who is our home . . . . ." Ode: Intimations of Immortality William Wordsworth 'Trailing clouds of glory' from her heavenly home, Gabrielle Rebecca Fisher was born to Paris and Lori Fisher and older brother Nicholas David on Sept. 1, 1981, in Chadron, NE. Paris had the privilege of carrying her from the operating room to the nursery and from that day on she was his little girl. Her days and life were filled with loving family and friends to encourage, protect and laugh with her. Everyone that knew her called her "Gabby" and she lived up to the name with her ability to make friends wherever she went. Gabby was a woman of faith. She grew up attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and attended regularly throughout her childhood and young adult life. Her favorite Primary song was "I Am A Child of God." When eight years old, she was baptized by her daddy at the Chadron Branch. As a young adult she loved attending Young Women's Camp each summer and Youth Conferences. The friendships she made during these times continue today and she enjoyed visiting with church friends whenever possible. She loved the beauty that she saw in her Heavenly Father's world and was gifted with the talent to portray these things through her drawing and painting. She started out at an early age loving to do art on walls and furniture with crayons and markers. This was sometimes to the consternation of her mother who finally gave her permission to paint her closet walls all she wanted. The result was that as an adult she had an amazing talent and often the beautiful pieces she completed became gifts treasured by her friends and family. Gabby attended grade school, middle school and high school in Chadron. She especially enjoyed the friendships she made and this was evidenced by the report cards she sometimes brought home. Mom and Dad reminded her that maybe along with the socializing she might want to attend to classes a little better. She graduated from Chadron High School in May of 2000. Gabby's interest in hair began at an early age. She cut the hair on her dolls, herself, our cocker spaniel, Bandi and cut the whiskers off our cat, Possum. So, after high school, she moved to Provo and attended and graduated from the Bon Losee Acadamy of Hair Artistry. While there, she discovered the love of learning and continued on to earn accreditation in their cosmetology and esthetician program. After graduating, she moved to Rapid City and worked for years at Black Hills Dermatology. While there, she learned the art of permanent makeup which combined two loves, painting and skin care. She had just recently realized a dream when she opened Fresh Woven Studio at Sola Salons. Gabby loved family. She liked following her brother around and if told she couldn't play with him and his friends, she could come up with the most creative ways to make him regret that decision. They would fight and carry on like cats and dogs, but she always had her brother's back and adores his dear wife Lisa and her nephews, Nick, Bennett, Andrew and Simon and especially her niece, Charlotte Rose. During her years in Rapid City, Gabby was blessed with two children that are the light of her life. Her daughter Cadie and son Porter can be assured that she will be watching over them every single day. She had also met and looked forward to marrying her dear fiance, Mike Barck, and he can be assured she is watching over him too. Gabby was the kind of person you meet once in a lifetime. She keeps her family close not just for this life, but forever. She made friends not just for this life, but forever. While her passing makes an empty spot for now in our lives, know that you will see her again. Remember, she was and is a woman of faith. You will be the recipient of that gorgeous smile and that quick wit and that throaty chuckle again because this is not the end. "Now, concerning the state of the soul between death and the resurrection - Behold, it has been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life." Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ Alma 40:11 Gabby is survived by her daughter, Cadence Rae Mahoney and father Ryan Mahoney, her son Porter Wayne Renz and father, John Renz, and fiance, Mike Barck, all of Rapid City; her parents, Paris and Lori Fisher of Chadron, NE; her brother, Nicholas David Fisher, wife Lisa, nephews Nicholas, Bennett, Andrew, Simon and niece, Charlotte Rose of Everett, WA; her grandparents, Wayne and Jan Fisher of Provo, UT; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends around the country. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Alma Ritterbush of Chadron, NE. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint Stake Center on Canyon Lake Drive in Rapid City, with a second service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 10th St. in Chadron.
